Cutting Food Wooden Toys

When we saw the Jamie Oliver Food Revolution episode where a kid identifies a tomato as a potato, we thought immediately about the kids in our life and how we could help engaging them about food at a young age.  That's why we love the Melissa and Doug Cutting Food wooden toy.  With over 30 hand-painted wooden pieces shaped to look like real food, our friends' and family's kids can mimic mom and dad cooking in the kitchen.

Held together by velcro, each "food" makes a "crunch" sound when the little chef "slices" through the toy.  Though recommended for ages 3+, we bought this for our nephew who's almost 2 (like all proud aunts and uncles, we think he's a baby genius anyway!)
