Eat, drink, and be merry is the theme this weekend as we try to keep warm. Free and cheap events this weekend in NYC include a Cask beer tasting, Wine tasting (of wines under $25), and a Cheese Fondue event. Have a great weekend!
For the fans of microbrews, dba Brooklyn is hosting its 1st Williamsburg Cask Ale Festival from Friday to Sunday.
Cask conditioned ales are unpasteurized, unfiltered, and without pressured carbon dioxide. Keg beers, on the other hand, need pasteurization to increase its shelf life. Cask ales, like unpasteurized cheeses, have deeper, fresher flavor and aroma.
The 1st Williamsburg Cask Ale Festival starts today (Friday) at 1pm and continues throughout the weekend. dba Brooklyn is located at 113 North 7th Street (btwn Berry St. and Wythe Ave.) in Brooklyn, NY.
We're all looking for ways to dine or entertain without spending a lot of money. This Saturday, head out to Union Square Wine's Awesome Wine Value Mega Tasting which features free tastings of wines under $25.
Union Square Wines is located at 140 Fourth Avenue (at 13th St) in NYC.
What better way to warm up this weekend than with a Cheese Fondue? This Sunday (and every Sunday until the end of February), Trestle on Tenth is hosting a traditional Swiss cheese fondue made with nutty Emmentaler, spicy Gruyère and creamy Vacherin cheese for only $24 per person.
Trestle on Tenth is located at 242 Tenth Ave (at 24th St.) in NYC.
