We were excited to hear that Toronto, with a new street vendor program, was finally joining other culinary cities like LA (with Kogi BBQ's Korean BBQ tacos) and NYC (with everything from Dosa Man's Indian vegan cuisine to dumplings to desserts).
Since late May, 6 new street carts have appeared around Toronto. We attempted to find a few with little successes. We first tried to find the 2 carts at Nathan Phillips Square (Toronto's City Hall). Arriving at 3pm, we found the Persian cart (photo above) empty while the Greek cart was nowhere to be seen. It seems that the carts are only open during lunch time.
The next day we tried to find the Eritrean cart at Roundhouse Park (by the CN Tower and Steam Whistle Brewery) around 1pm. Because of the mass renovation of the park, we could not find the cart.

We finally had better luck the following day when, around 11:30 AM, we ventured up to Mel Lastman Square (North York's City Hall).
2 items for $5 or 3 items for $7. The menu includes spring rolls, mango salad, and satay.
We went for the Pad Thai and Cashew Nut Chicken ($5 CAD = approx $4.35). It was good and and large enough for two of us to share. It was not greasy and had some nice natural flavours.
