{Brunch in NYC} Clinton St Baking Company

It was 9:30AM on a Friday morning and there was already a crowd waiting outside Clinton St. Baking Co.  Happily, I was meeting up with Hong and Kim (Ravenous Couple) who were in town for a bit, along with NYC-based Christine (Fresh Local and Best) and Marc (No Recipes).  So we caught up for a bit, enjoyed the unusually warm weather, and awaited what would be a tasty, homey brunch.
Both Christine and Marc ordered the Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich ($11.50).  With scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, melted cheddar, and tomato jam on their famous biscuits, this sandwich is big enough to share!  The dish has everything you want in a savory breakfast, and the buttery biscuit makes the wait worthwhile.
Eggs Benedict on a toasted Buttermilk Biscuit ($15): Kim and Hong shared the Eggs Benedict dish (hence, the half portion pictured above).  The dish had a poached egg, grilled ham steak, hollandaise sauce, and a buttermilk biscuit.
Pancakes with Warm Maple Butter and Wild Blueberries ($13):  Everyone talks about these pancakes so I had to try them. They were hot and fluffy - and the warm maple butter puts them over the top.

Overall, the food was satisfying (all of the dishes could easily be shared by 2 people) and of course, the company was great. I wished our server had told us that Clinton St. Baking Co was featuring special pancakes all month long - I would have liked to try the Almond Frangipane pancakes.  (Our server wasn't that great - not only did she forgot to tell us about the special pancakes, but she also forgot to bring us our orange juice). The waits over the weekend can be hours long, so if you want to check this place out, go early (especially on a weekday) with a small party of 2.

Clinton St. Baking Co. is located at 4 Clinton St. (at E Houston St.) in NYC.
