Food + Fashion Part III - Effen Vodka Event and Inside the tent at Lincoln Center

For our final Food + Fashion post, we get inside the tents at Lincoln Center for Fashion Week.  During the last fashion week at Bryant Park, I enjoyed finding the food within this creative world.  This time, we were invited by Effen vodka to a private cocktail party and found more drinks than food.  And despite having to drag my husband to a fashion event, he ended up having a good time! (It's a wonder what free drinks and pretty people can do.)

We saw lots of creative attire that neither of us could pull off!
The private room was more calming and sleekly decorated.  Upon entering, I immediately noticed that we weren't the first foodies to check out the room - Kelly Choi had autographed a chair (as did singer Kelly Rowland)
The first cocktail we tried was the Effen Picture Perfect which tasted like a refreshing summery drink.

 Picture Perfect Cocktail
Ingredients:
2 parts Effen Cherry® Vodka
8 mint leaves
1 part simple syrup
1 part fresh lime juice
½ part Champagne

Directions:
1. Muddle mint with simple syrup and fresh lime juice in a mixing glass.
2. Add Effen Cherry® Vodka  and ice. Shake well.
3. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
4.  Add champagne.
5. Garnish with a mint leaf.
Our second drink was the Effen Hautini that was pretty in pink.
Hautini
Ingredients:
2 parts Effen Vodka®
5 raspberries
¼ part ginger spice (i.e. ground ginger)
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part simple syrup
¼ part cranberry juice

Directions:
1. Muddle raspberries with ginger and lime juice.
2. Add remaining ingredients and shake well with ice.
3. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
4. Garnish with fresh raspberry, skewered
Our favorite drink overall was simply the Effen Vodka Black Cherry on the rocks.  I don't usually drink vodka straight (it tends to be too hot) and my husband doesn't like fruity drinks, but we both really enjoyed this cherry vodka on its own.  Made with only natural ingredients, the vodka's only flavored with vanilla and black cherry (no sugar added means less calories!)
Back in the tents, outside the private room, we found even more drinks (but unfortunately no food).
It was a fun night hanging out with the fashionable crowd.
But coming home, kicking off my heels, and collapsing on the couch together was one of my favorite parts of the night.  We both sat down in our happily unglamorous apartment and enjoyed our Buddha Bowls full of pasta, sprinkled with goat cheese.
