The 2007 Foxglove Chardonnay is a good everyday style California Chardonnay.
For a bottle that only cost us $12 (after discount from Zachys), the '07 Foxglove Chardonnay had a lot more oomph than we usually expect from an affordable Cali chard.
This wine had good fruit balanced by decent acidity. It is fermented in stainless steel; however, it's not quite the zesty, unoaked style many wineries are offering today. There is peach and tropical fruit and weight to the wine. It's certainly not thin like most wines at this price point. We enjoyed the Foxglove as an aperitif and thought it would also pair well with chicken.
Since 2009 is almost over, the 2008 vintage should start appearing in stores soon. It will likely be a great value buy like the 2007 vintage.
