So we were curious to check out Num Pang Sandwich Shop, a small Cambodian sandwich place in the NYU area that had opened earlier this year. All bread is from Parisi Bakery and sandwiches are filled with cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots, and chili mayo. As you can see from the photos, this place was right up our alley!
We started with the Hoisin Veal Meatballs ($6.75) pictured above: The sandwich was fresh and crunchy - It was not heavy and left us satisfied. There was so much flavor that we didn't even add Srichacha sauce!
Five spice Glazed Pork Belly ($7.50) with pickled rhubarb: There was a very generous-sized portion of pork belly in the sandwich. This sandwich was also flavorful and we liked the bread - it was crispy, but not burnt, chewy, nor dry.
Snow Cone ($3.50): Sweet and Sour Cherries macerated in port wine. The cherries were spicy because of the wine and needed to be eaten with the ice. If you like port and spice, you'll like this dessert.
