According to Morton Williams Supermarket (NY Post, 06/27/08), the most purchased grocery item in NYC is a 1-liter bottle of seltzer. With all the people in NYC, you can imagine how many plastic bottles are tossed out every day. In honor of Earth Day, we wanted to share a better alternative. How can we get our fizzy water without plastic bottles?
Yes, we were guilty of buying and recycling all of these plastic bottles each week. Luckily, we received a Sodastream Pure Starter Kit

Our kit came with 1 CO2 carbonator and 2 reusable bottles. Each carbonator makes 60 bottles of fizzy water. (Once the carbonator is empty, you can send it back and have it reused and refilled). After a few pulls on the lever, we quickly have our own bottle of carbonated water. We have used the machine for about a month now and it has been very easy to use.
