sucre - satisfying your sweet tooth in New Orleans, LA

Who could resist these sweet treats? While exploring the Garden District, we were beckoned by this beautiful window-front. Sucre is a mecca for dessert seekers.

Lots of macaroons filled with cream or ganache.

So many desserts...so little time!

Beautifully decorated Cupcakes!

Gelato

Tons of chocolates with fun packaging.

Vanilla cupcake ($3.50) filled with lemon curd topped with buttercream. The cupcake was moist and light - we liked the lemon curd but wished there was more.

Chef's Special ($6): Raspberry mousse with custard on top, pink sparkly sprinkles, and a raspberry on top. This was so pretty with a wonderful fruit flavor.
Sucre is located at 3025 Magazine Street in New Orleans, LA.

p.s. There were some fun stores nearby including Funky Monkey (3127 Magazine St), a vintage store where we scored a DVF dress for under $40 and our friend bought a Cole Haan wallet for about $30.
We also bought these candy-colored OKA b. flip flops (with massage beads and arch support, they're so comfortable!) from Belladonna (2900 Magazine St), a day spa/store that has its own martini at nearby Commander's Palace.
